Announcing the Hazel Whitaker Vandenberg Award!

The award will help a Grand Rapids Public Schools high school junior in honor of one of our founding members.

The winner of the HWV Award will submit an entry about a person who has been a role model in their life. Entries for the award must be one of the following choices: essay, photo, painting, poetry, short story, drawing, collage, or song. The entry will include a brief artist statement about why this person is a role model for them and is due April 10, 2019. The award of $500 will be presented at WCC’s Annual Meeting on May 16 by GRPS Superintendent Teresa Weatherall Neal to a winning Union High School junior.

April has been designated as Campaign Month to fund the Hazel Whitaker Vandenberg Award. Donations are now being accepted.
