Esther’s Hope founder Joan Cornelison
Education is a luxury many families in Africa cannot afford. Girls are often excluded from school and are frequently forced into early marriage, child labor, or sex trafficking. Esther’s Hope provides access to education and mentoring for high school girls ages 13-18 in rural Kenya.
Esther’s Hope Ministries founder, Joan Cornelison, recently spoke to us about her mission to transform the lives of rural girls by sharing God’s Word and providing resources to change their destinies. They provide Bible camps, education scholarships, life skills training, healthcare, and clean water in order to help women and children. This non-profit helps to educate 100 girls each year. Helping even one girl changes families and communities.
Joan, a former WCC member, is clearly passionate about her mission and it shows in the pride in her voice when she speaks of the girls who she’s helped to succeed in following their dreams.
